Just in case you didn't see the comment reply on my blog:
I use a Canon 500D camera, usually with a Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. I use GIMP to edit my photos because my computer's Linux, so no Photoshop available :-( The guides for GIMP aren't amazing so it's taken me quite a while to get to grips with the complexities of the layers, etc.
